In September 1992, when Edwin said, ‘It is definite, we can start with the renovations’, I felt a bit alarmed. What did I know about hospitality? After giving the place an extensive face-lift, we opened our doors on March 11, 1993. Learning how to ‘be friendly and make our guests feel comfortable’ was the first step and after attending many seminars and training sessions my ignorance of the business was slowly replaced by professional skill and confidence. It is important to be honest and sincere, and to show guests that you take pleasure in your work. These are qualities that come naturally to me.

We do the interior design for the restaurant ourselves. I do my utmost every day to make our restaurant a place that is very attractive and comfortable. I want everyone to feel at home. Working with our entire team – Mike, Maarten, Eliza, Arianne and Sinedu – we seek to make your lunch or dinner with us delightfully memorable. A feel for hospitality is something you are born with. Either you have it or you don’t.
